Need ideas for things to do in Dublin

Ok, so I'm sitting at home here typing this. I went for a jog this morning around 11:30, got back and watched 4 episodes of arrested development and a Seinfeld reunion special and now I'm bored out of my tree.
I swore to myself that this is the very last time I spend my saturday daytime in front of the TV.
The only problem is I'm struggling to come up with some cheap alternatives.
Can anyone suggest some fun things to do in Dublin that don't work out too expensive?

there's a free poker tournament on in the fitzwilliam casino at 4:30pm ; if that is the type of thing you'd be interested in...

Museums are free (as far as i can remember)

as far as things to do are concerned try :

    Zoo
    Guinness Brewery
    Jameson Distillery
Viking splash boat/military assault vehicle thingy
    tourist bus ride
    cinema
    pool/snooker
    get a tatoo/piercing
spend the day in the pub

and if all else fails go to a large shopping centre, act suspect and see how many security guards you can get to follow you

I know some of these ideas require varying amounts of money but who ever said Dublin was cheap

Well I got 3 hours sleep last night (was studying till 4) Then got up, had an exam, went home ate and now studying again and will be till 1am! I know what you mean though, sometimes I feel like I waste days sitting around in front of the tv doing nothing! As for stuff to do, why not go make something - seriously! Look up something on the internet, like anything from how to make speakers out of a sheet of paper, to how to built a portable socket and go make it. It prob won't work (telling u that from experience :p ) but you'll have fun!

My mate is convinced all our culture revolves around beer, including daytime things to do! If you look hard enough though there's plenty. Shopping centres with cinemas is one I still do when no friends are off the same day/hours as me.

Drive into town and park your car at the side of the street. Leave something expensive on the passenger seat; like another car. Sit against the wall nearby with a cap upturned on the ground begging. Wait for a scumbag to come along and take advantage of your open window and then kick the sh1t out of them.

Or, connect to the internet using dial-up.

Or, connect to the internet using dial-up and try and look for something to do tomorrow.

I know that pain. Due to something that happened at home just over a month ago now I've had to live with my dad. Problem is, he wont let me get broadband in, me being used to a 1.5Mbps connection for about a year and a half now, and before that it was 750kbps... ohhh the pain the sheer horror. Even had to siphen a 56k PCi modem from the Emachines PC that was here... ohhh and to top it all off I can only use dial up for an hour a night... it's... so... in... humane... NO PAIN PAIN PAIN!...

Aherm yes anyways do what i HAVE to do, connect to the Internet through 56k for an hour then abstain for the rest of the day. You will go quietly, quickly insane.
