Organising a Heads Up tournament in my pub and would appreciate any advice regarding starting chips, blind levels/intervals etc. Am expecting anything from 18 to 30 players and need to run it off approx 3 hours cos closing time etc. Have plenty of chips in denominations of 100, 500, 1,00and was thinking of players starting with 10,000 chipsand blinds at 100/200 and rising every 10 mins. Space for 6 matches to be in progress at any time.Any help appreciated.

Id say start everyone with 1000 chips and for 30 people level up every 16mins..

    Start everyone on level1 25-25,
    level2 25-50,
    level3 50-100,
    level4 75-150,
    level5 100-200,
    level6 150-300,
    level7 200-400,
    level8 300-600,
    level9 500-1000,
    level10 1000-2000,
    level11 1500-3000,
    level12 2000-4000,
    level13 2000-6000,
    level14 5000-10,000

Got this guidline from a poker book i got a while ago has always worked grand for me. If you only get 20 players level up every 18 mins and 21mins for 10 players. You should also start every players 1000 chip stack with 8x25 chips and 8x100 chips.

Sounds like it could drag on for a bir. With it being in a pub have to get it over in 3 hours. How long did it last for you?

That is the gudeline for 3 hours, you probably will get to level 10 or 11 before the game ends. With the chip denominations you have start with 10k as you said follow the guideline but times everything by 10. As for starting chips 8x 500's and 6x1000's sounds good.
