There's an ad for Shop Electric on page 15 of todays Indo -

LG 185 Watt Home Cinema System - €119.99 (was €249.99)
    • 5 x 25 watt speakers, 60 watt subwoofer
    • Digital RDS tuner
    • Dolby Pro-logic II
    • DivX Technology

For a DVD player that plays DivX files and has built in surround sound that would seem like a very good price.

    Not bad.

Not a good price really as all you are getting is a good DVD player with poor quality , almost annoyingly so, sound. If you are looking for a divx dvd player the philips dvp630 at €99 is the one to go for. But a 60 watt sub woofer won't give you much bass. :)

Where do you get the dvp630 at €99?

Personally I'm not a big fan of very heavy bass. Generally have to turn it down as it travels too far.

Well I purchased the LG One Box, One Cinema Model Number; LH-T6345 yesterday from the ESB shop for €119.99c.

Must say I am mighty pleased with it, and it has everything I could want in a easy to install surround sound system. In fact I am genuinely shocked at how many feature's it has and the quality of sound and picture.

Would certainly say it is the best deal I have had in many a long day :)

    Many thank's SteM

Paddy20, glad to hear you're happy with it. I may pick one up for the spare room.

    crang, when you say
with poor quality , almost annoyingly so, sound.
have you actually heard this model set up or are you just suggesting this because of the wattage? I'd be interested to hear.

They're selling the Philips DVP 630 on amazon.co.uk for £59 + shipping. No surround sound with it though.

If it were 60 Watts RMS (which I doubt) then you could break windows with it.

RMS (root mean squared) is the standard way reputable manufacturers quote power output.

PMPO (peak music power output) can be ignored as meaningless.
