Just noticed this link ( http://www.discoverscuba.net/divestandards.html ) from the discover scuba site.

The gist being the the EU have checked PADI's course standards and found them to be on a par with their own - at least at certain points. So I'm wodering will this mean the end of Irish divers who have learnt vis PADI having to re-train to CFT?

    http://www.scubaireland.com/downloads/Forms/Crossover%20Module%20Oct%2002.pdf

is a list of crossovers. I don't really see direct crossovers i.e. DM to Leading Diver working out. No boat work done in the DM for example. There are similar differences between most courses.

However the myth that PADI divers have to start from scratch isn't quite true if you look at the crossover list.

Most crossovers we take are completed fairly quick. Tis a good idea as some of the signals etc differ....
