Where do you use your laptop?

So, as per the title - were do you use yours?

Me - in the sitting room, in my room (garage conversion) with my projector, and hopefully if we get some semblance of a Summer, in the back garden. It's funny, I have a dedicated "office" upstairs which I always used with the PC, now with the laptop, I am rarely there.

I also have to admit I tried unsuccessfully using it in the bathroom. :D

I don't really use it for travelling. Anyone used their laptop in an unusual location?

one place I don't put it is on my knee. Have found the heat too much and seen an article where a college lecturer sued IBM or DELL as he lost the use of one of his nuts through top of lap usage.

    used to bring it everywhere,
    college,
    work,
    friends houses,
    holidays,
    trains,
    buses,

anywhere i could sit down for 10 minutes with it,
then the battery died and now the furthest it goes is from my bedroom to the sitting room to watch the few xvids that the dvd player wont play.

Christ is that true? I get quite a bit of pain in my legs...and that region when ever I occasionally put in on my lap.

Yeah, i can use it on my legs without any difficulty and it's by no means light. It weighs about 3.5kg without the battery. A dell inspiron 8500....more of a desktop replacement than a laptop.

I had it on my legs for near on two hours in bad last night with no problems at all.

Mine is one of those compaqs that sounds like a jet engine. Causes a significant amount of pain when put on my lap actually. It also gets pretty damn hot.

I don't mind the heat, and most of it comes off the top and not the bottom of the laptop anyway.

I actually typed a large portion of one of my end of year reports while a passenger in a car, where it could be nowhere other than on my legs

    Mine's probably making me infertile.
