Sandyford-> Airport on M50

    Hi - just a quick question: can anyone offer advice on how good/bad traffic generally is on M50 at 7:00am on Mondays. I have to be at the airport at 7:15am on Monday coming. Was going to take the M50 all the way around from Sandyford. I was hoping to get on the M50 at 6:40ish to arrive at long term parking at 7:15am, so I was expecting the trip to take ~35-40mins.

    Does anyone have any experience of northbound trip time at that time of the morning? I know that if I was to use the N11 and head via the east-link or city centre that it would take a solid 45-50mins at that time.

    Thanks for any info.
    Cheers,
    -mem

    Not sure about 6:40. I used to get on at the Ballinter exit at about 5:30 am and be in the airport for about 6 ish - about 30 mins. Journey might take a bit longer at 6:40.

    Cheers.

    If you leave it until the M1 exit you'll almost definitely run into a queue at the traffic-light controlled roundabout there. When you eventually move up to the slip road to join the M1, you're sure to join another queue on the off road to the airport, all inching up to more traffic lights on the Airport Roundabout!

    I would recommend leaving at the Ballymun exit, turn left, (past the entrance to the NCT Centre) then right at the next lights. Go to the end of the road (passing by the airport perimeter) and turn left at the lights to the Swords Road and left again into the airport.

    I work night shift and would be heading off the M50 and onto the N32 at around 7.30am and have never experienced a tail back of more than 10 cars at the M50/M1 traffic light controled round about at that hour.

    Which means that it would be highly unlikely that there would be a queue for the off ramp onto the M1. If I were you I'd be hitting the M50 at @6:20/6:30am and you should be OK.

    Id leave a bit earlier. From 7am on it starts building everywhere on the m50, Instead of taking the M1 exit leave at the Ballymun exit 1left off the roundabout & take 2nd right brings you around by the perimiter of the airport, much quicker!

    Just to follow-up having done the run. Got on M50 at sandyford at 6:30am, toll booth at 6:45, long term parking at about 6:53 and finally got to check-in at around 7:10am. The slowest part of the trip was having to wait for the long-term parking coach. Turns out I was waaay to early. I was expecting it to be busy on Monday morning, turns out the place was deserted, no queues at security etc.

    Thanks for all your advice.
