I'm getting an electric guitar in the near future but I'm not 100% sure as to which one to get.
I learned to play on a 1985 Fender Accoustic which I'm still in love with but I'm currently using my uncles 1987 Fender Squire Stratocaster and the only word I can use to describe it is SEXY! I'm thinking of getting myself a Squire Telecaster or a Fender Telecaster but I'm not sure. I don't like Gibsons and I don't know Epiphones that well. I'm willing to spend €700-€1000 on it and it will literally be my baby! :D
Has anyone got any suggestions/help for me?
I'm in a rock band if that makes any difference sound and tone-wise?

    Epeleptic Pony
(Comes from a very entertaining Religion Class!!)
I'm kinda the only guitarist.... well its me a singer and a bassist and a guy standing in on drums (it was ment to be a "rock chick" thing, pardon the cliche!) We only formed 2 weeks ago and have two gigs next week!!!! Scary!
I would but its his only electric and its worth like €2500 +. I only have it cuz he's in New Zealand at the mo!
Yeah I have it worked out that even only making €30 a week plus odd bits of dosh I come across I'll have it by Christmas, I already have €100 for it.

80's Jap Squire are spectacular. So much better than the Squires that are being made these days.

    Why Thank You!!
as I said the only word I can think of when I look at it is "SEXY" and the finish is sooo perfect! and its got a beautiful tone and oh its just so f*ckin sexy!

They're meant to be great. Never played one personally. They're essentially Jap Fenders with a Squier badge. A lot of them were re-sprayed as Fenders. They're not 2500 though, by any stretch of the imagination.

    Re-badged, not resprayed :p

Aye, not €2500 alright. But worth a few quid all the same.

700-1000 thats sweet you have the choice of so many fenders with that kinda money... or 3 or 4 or 5 squires :p ... definatly look into japanese fenders and don't buy one in ireland unless u wanna be ripped off :)

Find a second-hand Gibson SG. You should be able to pick up and SG Special in your price range no bother. Great guitar, can do anything a rock musician demands of it.

well if you like jacksons you'll love ibanez and esp, you'd have to spend 1200+ to get a new ESP but an ESP LTD can be got alot cheaper and still very high quality.
As feylya pointed out ibanez SZs are excellent and so are all highend RG models

Unless you pick up a Bronze Series BC Rich, they're quality guitars.

thats very true platinum and NJ BCs are generally great instruments but bronze are just disgusting.
