Hey guys... I am gonna buy 2 cymbals hopefully off thomann. I only have about 130 Ish to spend on cymbals so i cant go any futher after especially the 125 euro del. charge. I am a starter, well playing a while but on pretty much started kit with all Head changed and i got my Hi hats not i need to get some cymbols to replace the Old 1's i am using now ( basically produce no sound and are brown in colour )

Can somebody pick out for me the best cymbals i can get from here ... No mroe then 130 Unless i say so :P

Cheers, I would possibly like at least a 18" Crash and watever i can get after that. What ever u think is the best. I ahve all the hardware and stuff so i got a full kit waiting for some normal Crash's.

    Cheers,
    HJ

They are basic though ?? What are they like though are they ok , not "TOO" bad sounding ? And that splash , never heard it b4 whats it like ?

they dont sound bad at all. in fact our drummer recently upgraded to AA's and still kept his 302 Crash cause it sounds good. The splash i dont know, im assuming its just your usual Tiny bright short decay splash to be honest. they all seem to sound similar enough. Also have a look at www.musicstore.com they used to do a range of "musicstore" symbals which were just rebranded Paiste 302's for about a quarter the price of regular 302's. we got crash rides there for about 13 Euro and Crash's for around a tenner last year.

Woah there... delivery from Thomann is €20 not €125. What cymbals do you have? Spend the extra on something a little nicer. Those Paistes are bottom of the range, unless you're cymballess - save your money.

I'd forget the splash. You'd be better off taking the money for the splash and buying a better crash. Maybe the 502 instead of the PST13

What's your total budget to spend on Cymbals? Is it €255, or €155?
Do you want quality, or quantity?

Yeah forget the splash, and go for better crash and better ride, and then you're sorted for a while at least. There's no need for effects cymbals when you're a beginner. In fact you could even manage without a crash and just buy a relatively good crash ride.

yeah i'd say get good gear instead of loadsa crap stuff.. the 302 are not worth it unless u are a total beginner...or an indy drummer

    For under €130, I'd go with :
    Paiste PST5 18" Crash/Ride - €84
    Paiste 14" 502 Plus Crash - €42.

    What make are your hats?

Well my budget is 130.. So thats prtty much including the Delivery... I know i would be happier with 3 cymbals of a lower range ... My hi ahts are camber 1's. The drummer in my band uses a set of Zildjian ZXT's and he REALL likes my Hats, He borrows them sometimes he likes them and they are budget 1 ;s. Cost me like 89Euro... I am VERY happ with them so far and i was told they are a load of ****e , so IMO there fine.

About the 302's , Really TBh i think they are better then what i have , What i am using is a 16" cRACKED, bENT PIECE OF JSUT TIN BASICALLY as my main crash which sounds like " OMFG " so i think these would be great to get me going. And also i am apparently good at filling in little effects symbols, Well ic an do it well enough on my M8's Sonar kit , he has a few ... So i thought cos i have a spare stand i may aswel throw in a 12" splash cymbal for 18€.

I think its pretty sweet for 104 Euro. How much would you's think it would cost for all that stuff to buy in music maker or something like that in dublin, i may head in 2 town if its cheaper or around same price to do so.

It won't be cheaper in town. Musicmaker only sell Sabian. really expensive. i've a 16" and 14" Paiste 302. happy enough with them for the price! i got myself some Meinl cymbals a week ago, great cymbals. If u want effects cymbals get the Meinl Classic series 18" china and 10" splash!

    Consider musicstore.de,
you could get a 14" 802 (decent good value cymbal) and a 16" Alpha series power crash (excellent value for money) plus delivery for just about €170. Thats only an extra 40 bones onto what your paying! Imagine the possiblities?

Stay away from the lower end Paiste stuff, it'll rot your cymbal sense!
