I assume NTL broadband is only available to people who have cable connections and not those of us with MMDS Digital?

    Just wondering!

Yes, for the moment - that is correct. Maybe in the future, if NTL / future owners changeover all of the aerials used to subscribe to NTL MMDS, and update the masts to take 2 way reception, it would be possible - it would work on the same principle as Irish Broadband. This, however, would be quite costly, and would require one antennae for broadband, another for digital.

Wouldn’t necessarily need 2 aerials. MMDS operates on 2.6GHz, 802.11b wireless runs at 2.4GHz. The very same antenna can be used for both. (or at least the old type without built in down converter can)
Would need some fancy radio that was capable of handling both digital TV and data. Other option I guess would be to send the TV signal across the 802.11 link and have a decoder of some sort at the end. Dont think such products exist but sure it’s a nice idea.

Yeah I was just thinking myself it could actually be possible to just use one. I'd imagine it would need a seperate radio ethernet cable to be run up to the MMDS aerial though. It's possible though, that a downconverter and upconverter could be put in place so that a plain old ordinary cable modem could be used - I'm not too familiar with the whole Broadband system over MMDS tbh :p

But honestly - do you really think either NTL or Chorus are gonna invest that kind of money? I doubt it - Chorus were meant to launch cablenet over MMDS a number of years back - we're still waiting though.....
