    Quick Question:

Last hand of a cash game, I look down at rockets (one a diamond). I raise the pot to €80, "pot limit" and get two callers. The flop comes 8 diamonds 7 diamonds and 5 clubs. Immediately the two callers go all in, what would you do in this situation?
The callers were people who are likely to go all in on draws and who play mediocre hands,

Can anyone recommend any good books for playing cash games?

I think you have to make the call. Firstly you are getting over two to one for your money. You are likely facing one or both or an open ended straight draw or a flush. Bottom line unless the odds of you winning are less then about 30% you have to call.

The only caviat id have is that you may be facing trebs. If these players are playing mediocer hands could they have called £80 on pocket 8?? or worse???

How did the hand play out/?

I put the first all in guy on trips and that i why I did fold, as it turned out he had an open ender and a flush draw 6 diamonds and 2 diamonds,

The second guy had top pair with an open ender 8hearts and a 6hearts

As it turned out the turn brought a 7 and the river brought a 7, I'd have hit a house.

My problem was that I'd being playing tight all night, and anytime people suspected I had something they folded, so with 2 people shouting all in B4 I had a chance to do anything I feel I was in a real tight spot. Looking back on it I should have called, considering it was €300 for over €1100 pot

I was going to ask the same. Is this the cash game in the new casino in Mullingar, by any chance.

Nope, it was the last hand of the night, and 2 lads felt like gambling. Theluck I've had on bad beats lately was the reason I decided to fold, it's so funny when you look at it on paper

I have played in the same cash games. It is in the four Aces in galway and in fairness there is alot of loose play. They usually have two tables going one with a 12 euro cap before the pot, which is not too bad. But the other table can get a bit out og hand. There are a few oriental guys there (and I'm not trying to be racist or anything here) who have large bankrolls and who throw in on almost anything.

WTF is that? This is so Irish. That's no game I ever heard of. Sounds like a game made for players who LOVE to see flops. It's not NL holdem if you can't take down pots preflop. Dont play in games where a good players edge has been intentionally taken away. I mean how the hell can you get a read on someone if there's no reason for anyone to have a starting hand strategy.

I would agree more or less with Nicky, for a 12 euro cap, I'll make it 12 euro with just about any hand that I'd call with, since I know I'll pay 12 euro for this hand knowing I cant be reraised, and if I'm gonna call that, I'll do it first to get the folding equity. I dont mind the idea of post flop play as I think most NLH players with a year or less experience seem to simply memorize the starting hands and know little or nothing about post flop play but I dont want the game to be artificially constructed towards it. Thats what PL is for...
