I'm showing these photos at a wee art expo this weekend.

Just sharing them here as there's been some of that going on here lately.

    Any comments?

Damn, I was about to say I can tell by that building that it's from Finland, then i saw the Helsinki thing so my observation would be less amazing.

a fairly inconsequential remark but.. i presume these are scanned from prints?

Dublin 2003 is my favorite anyway. Good luck at the weekend.

Yeah, scanned from prints, unfortunately. Best I could do at short notice.

Well, they were taken with those Lomo LC-A's, except the one of the Lada, taken with an old Canon EOS with an unfortunately wonky lens, so they're blurry to begin with.

I'm looking to possible get a rangefinder in the near future.

    very average stuff.
no offence or anything, but you dont have an eye for it
if you want something constructive then i can say that taking a good photo isnt just about taking bits of objects into the frame, like the stool, or the car. you need to start by trying to find the essence of something. i mean, sticking a circular light over a dark bunch of tiles with a few bits of a stool and calling it what you think is a coolish name like dublin 2003 doesnt mean anything.

sorry, i know your gonna hate me, but i do know what im talking about and im not gonna lick up cos your nice. if u wanna be good you gotta want to criticise yourself and want to be criticised

I like the 1st and 3rd pics... the colours work best with lomo look...

...those Lomo cameras are such a rip off... although i have to say that it is genius, creating a market for surplus Soviet era crap (if they were a tenth of the price i would buy one). For the price that they sell the Lomo for, you would get a very nice second hand camera off ebay... and you can add the distortion and severe vignetting in photoshop easily...

BTW If you are lookin for a cheap good quality rangefinder keep your eyes open for a good condition Canonet GIII , 40mm f1.7 lens. Should be able to find one on ebay no problem for less than $100. Make sure its a reconditioned one (foam seal on the back has been replaced and some have been modded to take a battery more commonly found these days).

I use a Contax G1 which have halved in price since digital arrived, so are great value, got 1 for €350 off ebay... some contax g users work... Quality Zeiss lens...mmmm

    Concepts: 5/10
    Execution: 2/10
    Summary: Too clichéd by half.

The images seem very flat, nothing about them really stands out or catches the eye.
