    Well, if you look to the top of the forum page, youll find an announcement for an anime and gaming con called Q-Con, which is in Belfast. There is also plans for a con called EirtaKon, which was supposed to happen in DCU, but I understand things are a bit up in the air for that at the moment.

    For the bigger cons though, you need to travel to England.

    MinamiCon 12 is happening in March next year in Southampton, but it is a relatively small con compared to the others, with a limit of 350 people. It is, however, the longest running anime con in Britain now, and is very popular. So popular its pretty difficult to get a place, in fact. The registrations for next year arent up yet, but expect them to disappear pretty quickly when they are up.

    AyaCon 5 is a much bigger con. It was the biggest con in the UK in 2003 at 650 people, and this year its aiming at 1200 people. It's happening in August, but despite the high limit, places are selling pretty fast - the con is at roughly 2/3 capacity now.

    AmeCon is also running again next year for a second time. It had its first outing last August, which had 900 people attending, and it will be increasing next year to roughly the same size or larger than AyaCon. Registrations aren't up yet, but I'll probably post about it when they are.

    The UK con scene is, of course, nowhere near the size of the US scene, but in many ways this is an advantage. It is, however, growing rapidly, with con size doubling over 2 years, and still easily reaching capacity. And, most importantly of all, theyre a hell of a lot of fun ^^;

    Yeah just about to post about Eirtakon - the short of it is that it is being postponed a few months (circa about October/November)
