OK , folks
The Amateur MMA League will be held in Cork at the end of the month.

If this is your first time entering or your just thinking about it , you'll enjoy the day competitor or spectator, its great craic.

The Venue : Little Island Community Centre
The Date : Saturday May 28th
Registration Fee: 20 Euro

First fight will start @ 12:00 sharp.
we should be out of there before 5pm , hoping 4:30pm. This gives everyone involved enough time , to wind down and prepare for the nite of bannter

Any competition that has it's own event t shirt has to be worth going to!
Will try to get a few of the limerick boys down to it.

Thats the business, Tim. Hope you can get a few numbers and the missus down , she was very impressive in her last fights.

Wondering if we can get a few extra competitors from Cork in the tae kwon do or karate area, or any other Practitioner for that matter,,,.....Any takers?

Might pop down to watch.

Wouldn't compete though even if I was in fighting shape, a bad experience with a knee and my spine has put me off the idea of full contact when knees are involved.

I'm not sure about entering. My ankle is still dodgy and I've been slacking on training recently. I'll have a talk to the lads later and we'll see.

Thanks Liam!! Don't think i'll make it this time though i've been injured and its the last day of my final exams that saturday!! might be a bit too sore in the head to compete!!

Got to get the priorities , straight!!!! Now get yourself to the MMA League...lol just k/d Good luck in the Exams.

We'll be expecting a good turnout , from Limerick and Dublin ..so by sounds of things thats Great.

Keep the interest up , folks. No better oppurtunity to test the skills.

Heres the map , to the event. If your coming from Dublin, take the slip road on the left to little island

If you coming from Waterford direction take the Right slip road to Little Island

1. Pass Jones Engineering on your left
2 Pass the Petrol Station on your left
3 Theres a sharp right after the petrol station ( not shown on map) after the right 600 yards on your right is the community hall.

IF YOUR STUCK DROP OFF IN THE PETROL STATION. Your looking for Little Island Community Sports Complex.

Added to the event in Little Island, Cork will be a Taekwondo Superfight between Paul Manning of Bandon Taekwondo and John Murphy of NUI, Galway Taekwondo. Using standard Taekwondo semi contact rules this will be fought over 2*2 minute rounds.

These two clashed in the finals of the Taekwondo Ireland National Championships in 2002, that time Murphy clinching the tightest of victories after extra time, and Manning has been looking for a venue for a rematch since - and the MMA League is happy to provide one! Manning vows to avenge that loss on Saturday - this one is going to be a barn burner!

Just wanted to wish all organisors, judges, competitors, and anyone involved in anyway with this MMA event the best of luck.

Would love to get down to it, but it so happens that I will have a Redking TKD tournament on the same weekend in Cashel Co. Tipperary.

First Off , I would like to thank All the Clubs/Gyms who competed, in this Years Second leg MMA League in Cork. Once again it was a great success with 40 competitors.We had competitors from all parts of Ireland.
The sportsmanship was again at a high level - after every fight each competitor respecting one another and corners. Great stuff lads.

I'd like to thank the following people who help out through out the day with various roles Admin/Referee/judges/Timer etc....

Fergal , Mark, Vicki , Andy, Bucko, Marc , Kieran & junior, Tom , Colm ,Ruth and to anyone else I might of left out.

The Day went smoothly enough, with the Highlight Superfight between Anthony Braxon and Paddy Carmody....Great fight and I'm sure people will give their full descriptions....There was a couple of bombs thrown and a bit of craic between the lads during their bout...Paddy was victorious at the end , with superior postitioning. Well done.
