Looking to invest in a new mixer for my DJing activity mostly home mixing so the emphasis will be on sound quality not volume. I've had mixers before but the quality isn't great.
I've heard good things about the behringer dx1000.

Ideally I'm looking for 3 or four channels with line/phono inputs including a mic channel.

    Any recommendations?

Can't really help you here but I'd recommend taking a look at Vestax models too. Never had the pleasure of owning one so can't comment on how good they are; but I believe they're decent. But maybe your looking for a whole different league of quality...

For sound quality youll find it hard to beat Rane mixers, cant say ive used any of these http://www.rane.com/djcomp.html but ive used the TTM 56i and the sounds incredible, Ranes cicuitry is the best.......but you pay for it, tis worth it though.
Best 3 channel I can think is the Empath http://www.rane.com/empath.html.

DO NOT buy Behringer shoddy shoddy pieces of equipment is all that company makes, they just dont last.

Depends on what you want to spend but I have the Vestax PCV275 and love it. I bought it in Xmusic about three years ago and would highly recommend. Its rock solid and sounds great.

Technics Make good Desks. Have a look here, might not be able to order from this site, but you can have a look at what they have on offer.
