Do you use and external drive with your laptop? I've a couple of 3.5" drives I use but I'm thinking of changing to 2.5" drives. The cable clutter is driving me mad.

External DVD burner, external 5.1 sound card, external TV tuner and much, much more.

Don't talk to me about clutter. :D

My solution was to get a USB 4 in 1 adatper (or a hub might be better) and hide them all away. So you have only one cable going into the laptop.

i find it ok...my laptop is only 30gb which can fill up very fast so i use the 160gb external that i have and its worth having the odd cable hanging around ...at frist it was'nt worth the hassle as i only have USB ver1 .which was so so slow but since i got the pcmcia card with two usb slots on it i,d be lost without it ...but wait till you see what around the corner ...your going to love this ;)

I know you can get WiFi Hard disk now. But I'd be concerned about the security. Make a mistake and your data's available for everyone. Was in my parents house the other nite and was about to hook up to dialup to check something on the web when for some reason I just tried WiFi to see what was in the area. Managed to find an unsecured network that allowed me broadband web access. Fast too.
