First off - sorry if this is in the wrong place....

OK, here goes: I am lookingh to get a new hard drive for my computer. I don't know if my computer will take a second hard drive internally and i don't know how to find out so i am going to get an External Hard dive to be on the safe side. The problem is that external drives cost a good bit more. I have been told there is a device you can get that you can plug an internal drive into and treats it as an external drive. Aldi or Lidil were selling them a while back. Does anyone know what they are called or where i could get one? Do they even exist?

Yeah you are talking about a IDE to USB converter.

But this would make more sense to buy:

It is best to get an external hardrive case and then a normal
hardrive and put the hardrive into the case yourself.

Do you think there's anymore available? Or anywhere else in town that sells similar? I'm looking for one myself, cheers.
