    Yes
    Full speed between the times 6.35pm and 8.30 am

    outside these times I am limited to 25k/sec

    25kbyte / 256kbit?

    or is that 25kbit.. ie slower than dial up?

    What about the upload speed? Exactly the same?

    Read the IBB upgrade thread. The QoS is meant to be turned off already, when I rang them they were apologetic and just changed a setting and I was back up to 2mb.

    Don't let this sway you off them.

    Yeah really what package r u on? Cause I’m on 20:1 1MB package and still not upgraded :( Should I ring up too?

    I was on the €50 1mb package but recently I was upgraded to 2mb package. Last time I rang them (late last week) I asked about everyone being upgraded to 2mb and they said it will be taking place of the next few weeks.

    Thanks a mill for answering my question... I’ll give them a ring tomorrow just because I’m impatient :D

    Does IBB for definite have a 12 month min contract, because in their FAQ page it says there was/is no contract
    'Do I have to sign a contract with Irish Broadband?

    With Irish Broadband there is NO contract. Terms and conditions apply.'

    http://www.irishbroadband.ie/htmdocs/faq/faq.htm

    Ripwave - No contract (because there is no install)

    Breeze - 12 month contract. (because expensive equipment has to be installed)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 549 ✭✭✭Irishstabber

    Ok thanks for clearing that up. Now I have a decision to make. Stay with UTV until NTL(3mb package) open their Finglas exchange or go to IBB 2mb for 12 months :confused:

    From IBB Residential Breeze Order Form
    “Minimum Period” means the term commencing on date of
    installation of the Equipment and the date twelve (12) months
    thereafter.

    From Ripwave Order Form
    ‘Notice Date” means the date 30 (thirty) days after written
    notice is given to the Service Provider by the Subscriber
    requesting termination of the Service;

    “Subscription Period” means the entire term of this Agreement,
    until cancelled by either Party upon thirty (30) days’ notice.

    This Agreement will commence on the Commencement Date,
    and will continue for the Subscription Period. The Subscriber
    must pay Subscription up to the Notice Date.

    ‘Notice Date” means the date 30 (thirty) days after written
    notice is given to the Service Provider by the Subscriber
    requesting termination of the Service;

    “Commencement Date” means the commencement of this
    Agreement, which shall be the date on which the Service
    Provider agrees to provide the Service;
    So it would seem that Breeze is a 12 month contract; but Ripwave is a rolling 1 month contract.

    hth,
    causal

    They tested their QOS software and their customers were not happy with it. They responded by getting rid of the QOS..

    I think this says alot about IBB and in general I have nothing but good things to say about IBB. I would recommend them to anybody to be honest.
