Sky Sports 1 unencrypted on NTL??

Are NTL running a Sky Sports promotion at the moment. ie Sky Sports 1 unencrypted and I just never heard about it? We have 2 boxes, one with the digital and sports sub and one with just the basic digital sub. The latter box has been displaying Sky Sports 1 en-encrypted for the last week.

afaik they are now mirroring services.
whatever is on the main box is automatically received on other boxes as well.

eg
if u pay for skysports / skymovies on box 1 then for the other boxes in the house (xtra box monthly sub of €5 cable / €10 mmds ???) u get the same channels

Yeah, just checked again and all the Sky Sports are un-encrypted on the mirror sub box now. Definately wasn't the case when we first got the mirror sub a few months ago as I remember being told we would need to pay for another full Sky Sports subscription for the new box. Had to swap boxes around only a few weeks ago because the old man wanted to watch sports in the other room where the mirror box was.

This is great news. Gonna be a lot less arguements in our house now

Just hope it isn't a glitch where some NTL tech sent the Sports unlock code to the wrong viewing card which will be rumbled when some customer kicks up a stink that his new Sky Sports Sub hasn't been enabled yet!

Also, I just checked on the NTL site to see whether there is any mirror Sub information and I can't find any. I heard about mirror subs here, but where would a normal customer find out about the mirror subs. Don't NTL want customers knowing about it. I thought it was a decent deal @ €5/month for just the basic digital channels but its a great deal if all your Channel subs are mirrored too for the same price. Very strange that the site still makes a big deal about multiroom viewing with regard to digital on one TV and basic analogue on another when that would be the perfect place on the site to promote the mirror subs too.

When i queried a bill about a month ago to ntl the fella on the phone said they were going to introduce this service soon and they have well done ntl

Yeah, this is great news. Well Done NTL. Now just upgrade Bray to Cable Broadband so I can ditch UTV and Eircom and I'll be a very very happy man and NTL will be even happier that they'll be getting another €45/month of me for the 3000/300 product!
