    http://download.repubblica.it/pdf/rapportousacalipari.pdf

Uncalssified document - classified text is blacked out, but select text and cut/paste to see what it says.

    eg: Page 5
    (U) I was appointed by LTG John R. Vines, Commander, Multi-National Corps-Iraq (MNC-I) on 8 March 2005 to investigate, per U.S. Army Regulation 15-6 (Annex 1B), all the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident at a Traffic Control Point (TCP) in Baghdad, Iraq on 4 March 2005 that resulted in the death of Mr. Nicola Calipari and the wounding of Ms. Giuliana Sgrena and Mr. Andrea Carpani.

Sounds like George Dubya Bush's brother made up that pdf!

Its pretty stupid, the only way you can protect information is to rescan it, not blank it out.

You don't even need copy/paste, just select "Read text aloud" in Adobe and it will read the blanked out sections.....

It's an American report, investigating the actions of the troops who fired upon the vehicle. Note that the report exonerates them from any blame, laying it squarely on the doorstep of the Italians concerned, who neglected to inform anyone of their route or check if there would be any roadblocks, instead preferring to drive at high speed towards the roadblock. The soldiers did it by the book, following the rules of engagement to the letter. Also note the recommendations at the end of the report, showing the Americans are learning from the incident (as they do from all such incidents). Hopefully the Italians will too.

Heres a html version of it. Don't know who's hosting it so I can't guarantee it'll be there for long. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions either way about this yet, theres evidence that both sides are a bit dodgey with the truth on this one.
