    so... anybody else do this?
I've been doing the following (love > money) on most notes that pass my way for the last while, occasionally (money /= happiness).

so i'm A: curious as to whether other people do stuff like this and B: encouraging you all to do so. I'd smile plentifully if somebody elses money message came to me...

(note: this was meant to include a picture of my notes with those pictures on them..but i don't seem to be able to reduce the size of the file to attach... stupid complex colour depth of digital camera photos of notes and stupid my technical ineptitude :()

I thought it was against the law to write on bank notes.

It might be interesting to write a Boards reference on them and see if they end up in another user's pocket...

I used to draw glasses and beards on the watermark-faces on all my notes (it would just look like scribbles at first glance but if someone held it to the light to check the watermark, Bam - there's Daniel O'Connell mit glasses und beard!). I once got a £20 note back with glasses and a beard on it, but not my handiwork!

It would be quite interesting to write "This is a fake" on all the notes in somebody else's wallet and see what happens. Perhaps a freind in a pub and then watch them get stung at the bar.

    Just a thought ;)

oh yeah.. i meant to ask about the illegality and all that too. Is it one of those things that's just technically frowned upon but in no way enforced? cos one could always just say that the money was like that when they got it (unless you hand up a number of equally decorated notes at the same time... or they hunt you down for posts like this on a website).

hmmm..boards reference could be fun. how many users are there vs how many banknotes though?

    (ps: screw you deadwing :P)

It's against the law to damage bank notes. Them being the property of the state and all that.

    John

    You bold bold people.

  • it's viewed in the same light as defacing a passport. which is pretty damn serious really, so don't get caught!

Wouldn't that be getting boards into trouble?
I used to work in bankcentre, an used to see salvaged nots all the time, the ammount of 50's that are covered in blood in unbelieveable, and people with "fake" written on it.
Got a note in once that was in a money bag and had written on "found in prisoners backpassage" lol

You couldn't go to prison for useing a defaced bank note. They have absolutly no way of proving who vandalised it, Unless of course someone was stupid enough to write their name, address and telephone number on it (Which gives me an idea). I'd say all they could do is either confiscate it or tell you to trade it in at your local post office.
