makes a difference, depends if you are able to handle it though, speakers connected etc.

Well I've got a 5.1 speaker system already and I like to mess around with Fruity Loops to produce tunes and stuff. My spec can definitely handle the card (plenty of power and RAM) so it's really just a matter of sound quality and overall audio performance.

my brother just got an audigy 2ZS, and had a sblive before, using it with 4.1 speakers. It makes a little difference, depends how much of an audiophile you are.
