Any recommendations for gyms in Cork City. Looking at a general workout in the city center area.
    Thanks in advance.

I'm joined River's Edge (nothing to do with name) on George's Quay, not far from the city centre. It's an excellent gym, bout 260 quid a year, quiet enough little waiting for machines. Only disadvantage is no swimming pool, but you can go in and check it out for free.

Show me wonder you can't be sure of I exist in a place a self-made vacuum but still stranded here with the scum so clean so lost so beautiful
I'm not a subject not a subject am I sick and pale but strangely alive but my insides will look like war paralysed except through thought.

I'm a member out in Blarney (which is pretty good because of the pools if you have kids like me). The gym there is only OK. Oldish equipment, but not too busy.

Recently, I was in the Metropole with some friends and their gym is really quite good - lots of equipment and like daveirl said, you get a TV. However, the pool isn't great; its very small and the day we went (Sunday AM) it was packed.

A friend of mine is an instructor at silversprings and she says that the recent overhaul has made a huge difference.

I would say visit each of them before you part with your dosh. Try out the Kinglsey - I believe it's brill!

    Mark.

Fitton Street Gym on Fitton Street, some aerobic machines and a massive amount of weight machines. Biggest Selection around. Load of free weights too.

Fitton Street on the the street off the South Mall that heads to the Holy Trinity church. Fitton street runs parallel to the south mall.

A big grumpy guy with a sahved head called Dave runs the place. Ignore him and have a good look around.

Its very central and not a bad place.
