Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yes electric planes are good. But it depends on what you buy, of course.
This is not meant to knock anything you may be using at present but electric RC fliers would use the term "toys" to describe Argos type electric planes.
The planes we have in mind can handle more breeze of the force that is common in Ireland
You can see a good learner electric plane flying here ....
    http://www.greenhobbymodel.com/movie.html
    click on Daisy video
for an advanced electric plane click on Rafale video

    Flight Duration Time
A well set up electric plane will fly more time than a nitro one
A cheap or badly setup electric plane will fly less time than a nitro plane.

The engine type is not a factor in flight duration.
My last flight (with no engine) was 65 minutes continuous.
My last flight (electric engine) was 24 minutes.
My longest electric flight was 98 minutes.
My last flight with a 2-stroke nitro engine was 14 minutes (estimated).

Expected flight nitro 2-stroke engine is 12-14 minutes, 4-stroke engine is 20-25 minutes.
A jet will be out of fuel in 8-10 minutes no matter if it is electric, nitro, or kerosene turbine. As I said it depends on many things.

RTF model airplanes vary a huge amount. It depends on which market they have been produced for. Novelty shop people just want it to go through the air. Modellers will have higher expectations.

Thanks coolwings that exactly what i was looking for i like the look of theRafale Electric Jet but would you recomend the daisy for my first plane?
i was looking at this Economy RC version + 3ch budget feather RC
€ 397.50 onthe web page you sent.would i have to buy anything extra?
this would run for about 10 mins full charge am i right i know it depends on weather and you can turn off the engine in flight but approx how long sorry if it is a stupid question

It is a good first electric plane.

The Kan battery powers the motor for about 10 minutes, yes. But that should give a flight of 15 minutes or so. You see, the motor is "on" for all upwards climbing, and maybe 1/4 to 1/2 "on" for cruising on-the-horizontal, but it will be "off" (and the propeller folded) for all downwards flight.
This means that a beginner (who leaves the engine on all the time) is good for about 10 mins, but later on, the very same model and battery will give 15 mins flights because it is flown "with throttle management".
I hope this is clear enough .... :)
