Take a look. It is a big download, but worth it ....

It reminds me what got me hooked on soaring.

Afraid that link links to an undecipherable page of text, I tried a "save target as" but it reads as a text document, and I'm forbidden access on http://www.dwhs.tnc.edu.tw/~andycheng/wmv/ .....

    Any ideas?

It worked for me just now, hmmmm
There is a title in chinese characters shown at the start of the clip, could that be what you are getting? If this is the case, it may be loading ok, and the video follows after the title page.

Doesn't work with firefox/mozilla - funny text. OK with Iexplorer. Try again ... it is breathtaking. :D

Anywhere you have a slope and a breeze coming towards it.
Any coastal ridge with a seabreeze, or mountain/hill will do. The wind does the rest, and Ireland is a very windy country.
Folks are slope soaring up and down the country.

The breeze has to go up the slope to get over the hill/mountain. And from the model's point of view, it is like the up excalator in a shopping mall.
Kids run down it but stay at the same height, unless they run down fast.
When they stop they are carried up with no effort.

The air is going up with the model in it. Fly up - U go up. Fly flat - U go up.
Fly down - U go flat, but faster. Fly hard down - U go fast and down.

Last Sunday I had 2 flights. First was 65 minutes, second was 35-40.
That would have taken 8-10 flights from the club to get a similar duration in the air.
