    slight mistake ?

The ridiculous comment about 32/64 bits per second was pretty bad, but then to go and say we need to wait for longhorn for it when XP 64 is out today (or maybe yesterday). I'm kinda dissapointed, I don't know how microsofts marketing drones let that slip through, and they were the most realiable thing about microsoft.

    slight mistake ?

    I was been sarcastic.
Imagine your machine processed data at 64bits/second!!
Christ you couldn't play the Atari game pong on it!
It just goes to show what IT knowlege the authors of this piece have!

Mr Gates said the new standard would also be more effective at blocking viruses.

at the first read of this article i thought this was the slight mistake

I think it is a sad trend in modern mainstream journalism. Have a look at the likes of the Sunday Business Post or the Tribune if you want to see articles of a similar calibre.

The only publication I would have faith in is the Irish Times on a Friday.

I'd say he mentioned the virus thing, as xp64 is built off the server 2003 codebase, which is inherently more secure than XP.
