recently i did a system restore to fix some problems i was having with windows
this fixed the problems but now firefox no longer works but it was working perfect before the system restore

iv tried uninstalling, deleting its install folder and removing the entries it leaves in the registry
    then reinstalling firefox
but when i start it up i can not go to any web pages, use any buttons or menu's the program does not totaly lock up as i can still close it down

does anyone know what the problem might be?

No idea - straw clutching time
Try installing to a different folder
Try installing a different version (1.03 etc.)

Try installing a different langague - just to see if the messages are in the old langague !

Try a different user profile or check for application data\mozilla in your profile

Your system doesn't use a proxy server to connect to the net by any chance, does it?
