Firefox user settings???

OK, this is a real baby question but I'm a baby, so here goes.

When I launched firefox the other day (as I would do normally) a window came up and asked me to choose a user setting. It was something like that anyway, I can't remember exactly. Anyway, I picked "default" (the only other option was "default user"). Now I have the same settings in firefox that I had months ago. (Bookmark folders are different, my passwords for various sites aren't remembered boards.ie for example.)

Does this sound familiar to anyone? How can I change back? I've had a look around the help section but can't seem to find anything relevant to this problem. Sorry my description is so vague.

Yeh thats happened to me before, sometimes firefox doesnt fully shut down and the process is still running. When you try to run the program again it wont let you access the same profile so you to to select the default profile.
IIRC someone here gave me a command line to put in the shortcut launch bar....maybe that same person will post it up again

    that should help you out
or just start, run , and insert
firefox.exe -profilemanager after shutting firefox down
