    being a movie extra is possibly one of the most boring jobs ever, long hours (6am - 8pm) standing around doing nothing for ages, sh!te food and the dreaded "First Positions"

    I joined through the site and they would text me whenever something came up. Then I got an email saying my account had expired and to revalidate it I've to pay 40euro

    i.e. if I want to work for them I have to pay them...

    bit backwards IMHO

    I've been doing extra work since i was about 10 i joined with them a while ago havent got a job yet! but feck it. i personally loved workin on the film sets!

    I joined them. I got one or two auditions but nothing further. My account has expired now and I kinda want to renew it what with the whole thing of Lassie being filmed here during Summer. I have other ways to get auditions so I might just leave it this time. Haven't decided.

    If you think you'd like it give it a go. Might as well try it right? Plus it's only €40 for a year.

    I signed up with moviextras.ie a couple of years ago, when i was unemployed, and got half a dozen jobs off of them.

    It was can be kinda boring, waiting for ages, then doing the scene three or four times but the pay is not too bad - about €90 a day, plus you get to be famous for three and a half seconds!

    I was on Fair City (twice), Bachelors Walk, Big Bow Wow, and a few adverts. It just depends if you have a face that fits into the background of the scene being filmed.
