    Hi all...

i'd like to find a real bargain on one of those leather computer chairs that was listed here from viking direct a looonnngggg time ago.

i went back to the site, and guess what?? they don't do that model anymore and the cheapest is like E1++!!

i was a student when the promo came out so not much $ to splurge on a leather chair, now i'm working the offer is not there!!!

    cheers all

theyre usually cheaper o the weelly offer sheet they send out.

give them a ring and ask to get the catolog, then theyll send you the offers each week.

I saw one that didn't look too bad in PC World, Liffey Valley, about €60 I think.

Another recommendation for the BOSS chair from vikingdirect. Cheap but snug.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,484 ✭✭✭✭Stephen

Just to note that that price does not include vat.

vat sucks. still not a bad price for the boss chair.

After seeing these posts on Sunday night, put in an order. It arrived on Monday afternoon. There is a delivery charge of € 5 if you don't place an order over € 60 ( excl vat ) - Comfy and a reasonable price € 60.49 - Nice one :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 398 ✭✭wanwarlock

wow!!!!! thanks guys!!! will order 1 ASAP!!!!

    edit: was charged a total E49.99 + E5 (delivery) + 11.55 (vat) = 66.54

got charged the E5 delivery charge!!! oh well... cheaper than argos & they deliver!!

can't wait for my new comfy chair to arrive!!!

I couldn't find the screws but after about 15mins I noticed that they were in the back and base of the seat already and had to be unscrewed and put back in attaching the armrests and base appropriately. Sweet chair though isn't it. :)

Have had one since September, they rock. I spend all day on it, being a programmer, and have no complaints.

Is this chair any good any recommendations?????? i presume this isnt the same as the previous chair in this post???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 529 ✭✭✭Ebonyks

What would make that presumption??????????? If you must know its not much different at all, only a different style armrest and the stitching pattern. In fact, on looking at the 3 I've bought over the past few years, they're all different in looks. But essentially the same and a DAMN fine leather chair for the price. The two at work have been put through hell, but theres nay a bother with them.

Looks nice but I wouldn't buy any chair without adjustable armrests, especially one with armrests that curved down like that, as it's very easy to get RSI if you don't have proper arm support while typing.

that chair doesn't qualify for FREE delivery!. probably better to get the one for €80

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 175 ✭✭BlueShaun

Ordered one for my brother going back to college, does anyone have an idea how long delivery takes to the country? Their FAQ says 10-14 days, how might i arrange to be in to sign for that?

Sorry for going OT, but i had to travel to KNOCK to pickup packages before, its a 60 mile drive each way....................thats €15 in a relatively economical car.

"Your order of €60 (excl. VAT) or more is delivered FREE anywhere within Ireland. Orders below this will have a small delivery charge added of €5 (excl. VAT)."

So how exactly would it be better to get the €80 one?

QD9-DIRECTOR €79.99 (excl. VAT) (although it sure looks comfy)

Also this chair is not the same as the one that started this thread, but I think it looks better.
    QA9-MALAGA €39.99 (excl. VAT)
    QD9-BOSS €49.99 (excl. VAT)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,909 ✭✭✭✭Wertz

The Director chair is only 59.99 ex VAT....well worth it too.

If anyone's goin' for the lowest price one just buy somethin' else on the site to bring up the total...DVD-rs or pack of rechargable batteries or something, and qualify for free delivery that way...

Got a Late Delivery from DHL (after 7pm!!) but great to get.

The chair is excellent, my only quibble is that i cannot lock the recline angle (or have i missed something?)

Here is the assembled Chair in a less white background, i think its great! €53 delivered if u want nothing else, or as mentioned above spend a few quid more on something else u need/will use.

besides the ten euro price change, whats the difference between

    http://www.vikingdirect.ie/(ch5gkybsc12pn1bk2cnqmb2u)/catalogSku.aspx?PR=QA9&ID=MALAGA&XREF1=ECIE905905000001&XREF2=CHAIR

    and this

    http://www.vikingdirect.ie/(ch5gkybsc12pn1bk2cnqmb2u)/catalogFamily.aspx?PR=*&id=75607837

they appear to be the exact same!

(my mistake, they were the same link, but not anymore!)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 328 ✭✭popey21

are they not the same link

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 328 ✭✭popey21

there no difference i can see. It could be a mistake. If i order now how long does it take for delivery

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,078 ✭✭✭fenris

    Got a directors chair yesterday - €59.99
they included a catalogue for €0.01 which added up to the €60 needed for free delivery.

Its Just the High Back, @ 39.99 plus vat/delivery.

Honestly, €5 for delivery of a 19kg box is very good value!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 328 ✭✭popey21

just tried to order ,there out of stock on the €39 ones now anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,334 ✭✭✭OfflerCrocGod

Delivery time was 8 hours  Amazing speed. The chair is brilliant! I'm very happy with it. Now all I need is a new desk because my current one is far to small for this chair :D

Can anyone tell me if the arms on any of those chairs are removable (really want one for home studio and its a pain trying to play guitar with chair arms in the way!)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,909 ✭✭✭✭Wertz

Not on the director's chair anyway....need em to hold the seat and back together...same with the other two I suspect
