Ok, for a while i've been cooking up a script for a starwars fan film. however ive run into several problems.

    1) im only one guy,

2)i dont have much movie making experience beyond being an extra a few times and hanging out with some directors and real actors.

    3) my technical knowledge is terrible. i can get my hands on things like adobe after effects or 3d studio max but i cant use them.

    4) i dont know many actors who would be interested, either in not getting paid or starwars (yes they're knobs)

    5) equipment, i'm trying to get my hands on a high quality digital camera but no dice so far. i'd rather digital coz its better for adding in lightsabers and so on. video quality is not a huge factor. some fan flicks arent great.

    6) money... yes it makes the world turn but when u dont got none... (dont take that peice of poor grammar as sign of my writing abilities)

SO what do i need... some interested parties, fellow star wars fans, actors, prop makers or anyone who'd be interested in helping. i actually have an idea for maybe 3 (yes i know trilogies are cliche) short movies... adding up to a max of an hour of actual film.

    Ok, I'm in.

I have some acting experience, and I don't mind not gettin paid - it seems like such a cool idea.

We don't seem to have any problem finding actors or extras. And I know a few ppl who know the ins and outs of set design, wardrobe, even choreography for the lightsaber duels.

We just need ppl for the technical aspect of cgi and editing.

    Cheers

Based in dublin, southside. im not gonna go into to much detail here of script plot etc. just scouting for people who might be interested.

If you've already got the script/plot sorted then I'm probably useless to you since I suck at acting etc. I did write a couple of star wars short stories that were pretty well recieved by fans who read em. You could possibly use one of them as your script (as the first one was written more as a short movie than as a story).

But ofc this is your project, if you already got a good script then best of luck :)

I've no money, can't act(i think), don't own any useful equipment. Other than that I'm having a break for a month and a half since I just finished Uni so I'm happy to donate some time to help out if u need something :)

ive no desire to be an actor but would love to do a film soundtrack, what i was possibly thinking of doing(for your project) was making Mash up/remixes of the original soundtracks, there is some funky sh-t in there that id love to have a mess around with anyhow.
let me know if yer into it! :D

Thanks for your input lads, tis much appreciated by HCH and myself.
    Keep it coming! :)

To Memnoch: I think HCH has a fairly definite plot in his mind, from what he has briefly outlined to me anyway. But I'm certain he would appreciate help with the script, so PM him and see. Also, the fact that you have a bit of free time is handy, since a lot of the ppl we know work (a lot) and have stuff going on, so it would be nice to have a core group of us to keep the project 'ticking over' so to speak.

To Kingsize: I dunno really, HCH never really got into the ins and outs of the score for the flick. Again, PM him if you're interested, It could be something he'd really go for.

Once again, cheers for the feedback lads, keep it up! :D

Hey man, I would love to help out if I can. Big star wars and movies in general fan. Made some films before and worked on a few in various different roles. Im working full time though, 9-5 Mon-Fri so it'd have to be weekends. You got any dates in mind yet?

Hey, this sounds interesting! Im a SW nut (books, films. comics, some of the PC games), and I'm pretty good when it comes to the old thespian skills too! I think I might like to be a part of this, especially if its over the summer, as i'm still in school at the mo

i can act if you had a role for a reidiculously attractive young male and i can edit to a certain degree.
And maybe(definately) could help out with plot development.

Thanks for all the input guys. Like Sebthebum said i do have a plot in mind. however im limited in a number of ways, most of these involve technology, lightsabers etc. the technique is called rotoscoping and since im not terribly technologically inclined this is a big bummer. i was actually thinking of packing it in but since theres been a lot of input here im well chuffed and spurred on to do it. Most principal photography will take place in August, good weather etc since most shots will be outdoors. this leads to a second limitation, ive really bugger all funds, can get my hands on one or two decent cameras, one of which is a fairly good DVR.

I want people who are thinking of getting involved to have no illusions about this. it wont be big budget, it probably wont look that good. Most acting is highly underrated, with a good director anything is possible :D

Yes third limitation is indoor sets. one scene, basically the "fall from grace of our hero" scene i did think up as having to be indoors. however, it could be done outdoors but it wouldnt be as good.

Anyone who is familiar with fan films will notice that this happens a lot, if you've never seen one, go to www.theforce.net/fanfilms/ some of the guys fixed this by using blue/green screens, however this circles back round neatly into limitation numero uno which is tech and visuals.

Anyway, my current ambition is to get some tech people who dont mind working on it as a pet project or whatever, and just shooting a simple lightsaber duel with two people.

I will need a number of extras an that if the time comes.

Thank you all very much for your input and please keep it coming

May the force be with you :D

Anyone know how to do a cool, Darth Vader type voice?
I mean software btw. What software can mess with voice recordings?
