The Prometheus might become reality, Nasa are thinking about building a Spaceship called the Prometheus. Sure it wont be like the one on the show but it will be an advanced nuclear powered engine. Is there an SG1 fan in NASA!!!

    Check it out here!!!

The promethus sux - the Jack O Neill or the Daniel Jackson now they are ships

In Greek mythology, Prometheus was one of the Titans, the supreme trickster, and a god of fire. His intellectual side was emphasized by the apparent meaning of his name, Foresight. In common belief he developed into a master craftsman, and in this connection he was associated with fire and the creation of man.

Not really aw inspiring. Nuclear spaceship? I wonder

    Nukem

Where the hell did you get that from?

I thought Prometheus was a human that stole the secret knowledge of fire from the Gods and was punished for it.

Prometheus was a Titan. Along with his brother Epimetheus he was responsible for creating man and all the animals needed to survive. Epimetheus gave gifts to all the creatures, wings, claws, etc, but then had nothing left for Man.
So Prometheus stole fire from the chariot of the sun and gave it to Man as a gift.

Woman was made to punish the brothers for stealing fire, and Man for accepting it. :)

There are so many NASA employees brought up on Star Trek, I wouldn't be surprised if the first interstellar ship was named Enterprise. Hell, if I was captain, I'd probably change my name to Kirk aswell!

NASA actually already have a ship called Enterprise, its the name of the test shuttle that was used during the design process. Its never seen space, but it was used in launches off the Boeing transporter in test flights, etc.

It's also in the opening credits for Enterprise.

The Prometheus also appeared as an experimental ship in a Voyager episode.
