dvd software wont shrink.

ive used shrink clone 120% and all the neros known i got this duel layer dvd origanal it will not shrink .i ended up making an on the fly copy using latest nero using a duel layer dvd+r. expencive but did the job. is there anyone on here had a dvd that would not shrink? i know of dvd 9 but theres dvd12 and dvd18 now or so…
