We actually went to Croatia last year!! You're right, it was gorgeous. I'd really reccomend it to anyone else looking for ideas. Anyone know anything about Sardinia?

Zakynthos has plenty going for it.

Cheap, nice restaurants, good pubs, diving (for total beginners), nice beaches, tours and cruises available.
    Natives friendly.

    Really enjoyable.

Tip .. Look to get based in Argassi ... avoid Lagunas

    Croatia is recommended alright.

Dubrovnik is class. But island - hopping is best.

Anyone care to recommend any resorts in the Algarve for a nice quiet week away (nice beach , decent hotels/apartments and distinct lack of lager louts)

Havent been before and am planning to go with herself and any help would be great.

Tavira near Spanish border is nice, also far Western end is nice also around Sangres

Vilamoura very plush, and so not many lager louts about, just 'past it' young fellahs like myself who are into golf.

Would highly recommend Quinta da Marinha in Cascais, 20 mins from Lisbon !!

Cascais is a beautiful coastal village, loads of great restaurants.
