Well well, seems OCUK has Venice 3800+ in stock and more chips to come. The Sweet spot seems to be the San Diego 3700+ with 1MB L2 Cache 2.2Ghz.

I've seen overclocks on this CPU around 3.2GHz!! ...watercooled, i'd like to see some overclocks on a beefy heatsink on air.

What about X2?...will it beat and CPU at 3GHz?
Decisions decisions....wish i could choose

I just want a SD for about 300quid, don't really care about 1Meg L2 cache.
The memory controller's ability to run 4x double-sided DDR400 dimms at 1T is what I'm after, and Venice doesn't deliver that.

3700+ should be the cheapest SD, i doubt you'll get it for €300, it'll be priced above a Venice 3800+, because of the cache.

You can now pre-order the majority of the Venice and SD cores at OCUK. Again the 3700+ is the sweet spot!

I think I will be going for the 3200 Venice and I cant justify getting a 3700 San Diego because of the extra price no matter how much I would like it. That is asssuming the 3200 overclocks well.

3200+ overclockes to 2.8 on air, so i've seen. Higher on water.

I just hope the 3700 drops in price a bit in the next month, won't be buying my rig till end of May.

Im waiting to see what it will do on water and to see more examples of the overclocks.
