Cheira, the Brazilian youngster who's making a name for himself pretty fast. Anyone see Euronews sport this morning.

His "seal dribble" is a new style of dribbling, where Cheira bounces the ball on his head as he runs past defenders during the U-17 world cup qualifiers. One defender got so frustrated he lashed out and kicked him in the chest. The next game he was also taken out.

That kid will probably be murdered, players are so envious of him.

What age is he now? 14?

Theres much better ways of clattering him than kicking him in the chest. Players are netitled to challenge for the ball so why they dont jump and head it is beyond me, plus a bit of contact will obviously occur, that'll puty an end to his messing.

Stuff like that is done purely to annoy other players and get their backs up. He'll do it against the wrong play fairly soon i'd say.

Exactly what I was thinking, although if someone had the nerve to try that against me I might be tempted to challenge them a bit more forcefully than usual.

The names for these moves always give me a bit of a laugh.

Here's a video posted here before. It doesn't have his "seal dribble" though. Hope it works.

Yeah, around that. And playing U-17 international football! The media will kill him before he ever turns professional

Erm, this was on BBC Football, but it wasn't Cheira - he's about 10. It was Kerlon, who scored 10 goals in the U-17 South American championship and introduced the seal dribble.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/4455669.stm
Kerlon of Cruzeiro was top scorer in the South American Under-17 Championship, which came to a close in Venezuela on Sunday.

He curled home some wonderful free-kicks, outpaced the defence to lob past the keeper and scored with some typical penalty area poachers' finishes.

But it is not just his eight goals in Venezuela which will be remembered. The more lasting memories will surely come from his new invention - the seal dribble.

Kerlon flicks the ball in the air and runs with it like it is tied to his forehead.

He does it quite systematically, a few times in every game, and his close control with his head and overall co-ordination are so outstanding that he can perform the feat at pace or while changing direction.

It may sound like a circus trick, but the seal dribble is no laughing matter for the opposition. It is a move which is very difficult to stop by legal means.
Damn Brazillians, they can't be human :p

Deadly, I can't wait to see that in action in a professional game. Imagine how Robbie Savage would react to that :D

In fairness, plenty of people/players can run with the ball on their head. Its just a bit tough to do in a senior competitive match. :)

Plus generaly, players have enough cop noot to try it cos they'd have their heads taken off. If they lived they would then get a bollocking off the manager.
