The Ghost's Picture

When I was very young, about 5 years of age, I saw my first ghost. It was an old lady, with a hair net over her hair and a shawl or poncho draped over her shoulders. As this was the only ghostly apparition I have ever seen, it has stuck in my mind since then.
Having a keen interest in photography, last year a friend gave me photocopies of about 80 B&W prints taken at least 100 years ago. The prints were found in an old house next door to where we used to live.
Guess what! My hair stood on end, when I saw a picture of the Ghostly lady I had seen as a boy.
Has anybody ever came across anything like this, it is just like De Ja Vu?

Sounds like a cliched ghost story, but therein lies something interesting. Why is it that that type of ghost story has become so cliched?

I've usually maintained that stereotypes and cliches exist for one reason, they have happened so often by now...

Thanks Zilla for reading and posting a comment. It really happened and I have the picture of the old lady. She was drowned in an old well near the house where Ilived.
