Need to know, especially from girls, whether it is a good idea to ask a girl from work out ?

Well it depends, if you work closely with each other, it could be risky. However if you don't why not?

Go for it... the worst that can happen is that you have a bad breakup and have to see her every day at work... but if awkward silences aren't a problem for you, then it's all good.

That's not the worst that can happen - i can live with akward silences, they just aint akward to me.

The worst that cud happen is she cud say "no"

Ah of course, she says 'no' and you've got the awkwardness and you haven't even gotten some action out of it... yeah that's worse.

Well then! You've nothing to lose, get your ass over to her desk/place/general location and ask her out.

You could try staying friends with her then see what happens for your leaving do/suggest a few drinks when you are leaving?

There probably wouldnt be a leaving do. Im only there two weeks. Anyway, being friends with a girl doesnt work. Its either friends or partners. Can never go with a girl that you have been friends with.

Why not suggest going out for a few drinks with her and 2 others? Maybe you could try being friends with her and then see what happens - I am opposite to you in that I have never not been friends with somone that I dated.
