Me and a freind were trying to figure out what ~ is used for. Does anyone know or is it just a useless symbol?

OMG Capt'n. You're killin' me here. HAHAHAHA.

Benny: It's called a tilde (till-du). It's used a lot in Unix (not so much in windows) and also to mean "roughly".

As a programmer I use nearly every little symbol on the keyboard, but most folk can get away without a lot of the more obscure keys.
