so in a humourous and ever more trashy fashion the Sun announces its support for Labour for the third election running.
Love them or hate them, it must be noted that The Sun is the biggest selling newspaper in the UK and is bound to have some influence on its readers. So with some recent conservative-friendly stories, why did they go for labour? Was it just the safe bet to save face or do they really think that Blair is still the best choice for the UK?

Personally I think that it will make some difference in this election but probably not as much as some say, and certainly not as much as The Sun would lead you to believe.

Spot on. The Sun always backs the favourite. Although they claim they admore Blair's steadfastness over Iraq.

There's no real alternative in fairness. The Tories aren't really convincing anyone that they can do a better job (and in my own opionion are not to be trusted), and the Lib Dems don't appear to be winning any ground.

id say they picked labour because the tories are threatening to sue The Times over an article saying that Michael Howard was advised to give up any hope of winning the election. the times of course being owned by Rupert Murdoch who owns The Sun aswell.

also Murdoch likes Bush so he likes Blair for the stance on the war in Iraq
