http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=247560 is the thread i'm refering to.

tbh it happnens to me too sometimes. It would usually happen to me lying in bed after spending a few hours in noisey room full of people (ie. a pub) trying to work out what's being said from all the background noise. I'd hardly call it a medical problem that would require you to go to the doctor though. More than likely i think it's just that your ears have been stimulated for so long that they haven't had time to relax and so are still sending back the background noise of lots of people talking. At least that's my experience with it. I can't believe no one else has ever experienced this?
