Looking for a way of getting that heavily distorted effect on vocals at gigs. Only for little parts here and there not the whole time.

So how can it be done? some kinda pedal like a guitar or I see guys with a totally seperate mic for it??

    http://www.thomann.de/thoiw6_digitech_vocal_300_prodinfo.html

Something like that might help. Distortion isn't mentioned on Thomann so let me check the digitech site.

The Digi doesn't mention distortion specifically but it does mention characters. That might suit.

    cheers guys

we're going in the studio this weekend which ill obv be easy to put a little distortion on some vocals but id like to replicate the effect when we take it onto the live stage

haven't a hope of affording anything with the recording sessions costing a bomb but what would you be offloading it for? Maybe down the line I could try get the money together

set up a second mic so you can be sure it wont feedback for you.

you should be able to run the voice through any normal guitar pedal to get the sound you want without too much trouble
