It's not the torrents, or Kazaa...

    http://www.theregister.com/2005/04/19/2005_uk_music_downloads/
More than five and a quarter million songs have been downloaded from legal online music services in the UK so far this year, it emerged this week.
Over 5 million songs? And I'd say around that number (maybe a bit lower) is bought here, as well. Thus, I doubt the torrents, or Kazaa is taking as much money off the retailers. The reason they're losing out is that their prices are high, and the competitors aren't.
