Sure once you go rack, use the midi pass through on the rack unit and assign different channels to the Flextone. Then you can control everything.

How much are you thinking of flogging the GT-6 for? Let me know...

    Mmm, G Major.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

just thinkin with say a g major and a flexitone i'm gonna need some other stuff like wah and maybe distortion (have the ds-1 for that) so it might cost me a bit more than just a g major

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Surely you can get your distortion from the flexitone and a wah pedal is about €100 or so...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

ah yeah i'm not worried about the distortion.. but the wah wah is a corcern..that means i gotta buy more gear tut for feck sake :D,.. what would u go for... wanna try zakk wyldes new one..might get a dimebag tho

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

what did u do to it

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

True bypass, removed the buffer circuit, more bass, more mids, more gain, more volume. MORE!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

well done bud i don't have much of a clue when it comes to the electronics (as u have probably copped)... just a classic crybaby was it...don't have a sample do ya...still as versatile as the original

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Aye, it was just a bog standard CryBaby. No clips I'm afraid. Must get round to recording some. That DS-1 you have isn't stock either. Busy soldering that one too :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

yeah i had heard about the keeley pedals before i saw your ad.. stevie vai uses one doesn't he.. great kinda tube tone of it and really good gain well impresed :)... the wah on the gt-6 is amazing u should hear it ;)...might be worth your while floggin me that wah..only messin i'm gonna start huntin tomorrow

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Well, if you want to make a straight swap - wah for gt-6, I won't complain.

I like the way on the ME-50 quite a lot actually.

    Vai does uses Keeley's DS-1s.

Not all the behringer stuff is crap. For live stuff its great. We use the Digital cross overs in college and have compared them side by side to the €2000 BSS ones and I'll be honest the funtionality and sound of the Behringer is ****ing class. I don't think I'd be to eager for recording stuff with them where degradation of the signal isn't wat you want. But for live you can't beat the price. I'm looking to buy one of there headphone amps for my recording rig soon...

What are their mixing desks like?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 800 ✭✭✭dabhoys

    In school?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    No, Behringer's mixing desks...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 800 ✭✭✭dabhoys

I've never used them. This is a rack unit cross over. I think there is a behringer desk about somewhere is college but we don't use it. The main live desk is a soundcraft MH3 console. Its oh so nice.

Don't get me wrong the BSS crossovers are ****ing class acts. But the behringers are excellent for the price you would be not dissapointed with one...

Aye, I'm sure. I'm just trying to find out the quality of the stuff. Wonder if you could put together a decent enough home studio for a grand (excluding pc). I reckon you could quite easily.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 800 ✭✭✭dabhoys

We worked it out before you could build an entire studio with behringer gear for €2000 euro :p

The only problem I'd have it with how to get all the tracks into the computer.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 800 ✭✭✭dabhoys

Motu make a fairly large interface for sending stuff in. I think its 48. Its not to dear either. Send it into Cubase or something along that lines...

The control surfaces aren't too bad. I would stay clear of there A/D converters or anything along that lines. Mic Pre's etc...

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

I'm just thinking of getting the sound from the guitar into the computer as cleanly as possible with the least amount of fuss and money.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 800 ✭✭✭dabhoys

MBox my friend. You can get them on ebay fairly cheap.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    €400 ain't cheap :(

    €50 is cheap :D

Theres other options out there but I'd highly recommend pro tools for your recording needs :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John

We use a Behringer mixing desk for the college radio station and it's fine, it does the job all right but it's not the best sounding thing in the universe.

Well, I have Pro Tools LE 5 but you need Win 98 for that

Software wise, I'm fairly sorted though. I just need a solution for getting the sound from the guitar into the computer, with or without effects from the ME-50.

Try one of those guitarports by line 6 maybe for a really simple way of getting yer guitar into the pc
