Anyone know what 3D gaming performance is like on a Dell Latitude X300?

Some of the reviews are less than complimentary, but I was wondering if anyone had any real life experience of it?

I dunno but its an Intel Integrated Extreme  linky
As far as i know there is nothing extreme about them. Try get a lappie with an ATI or nVidia chip will be better i reckon. Could be wrong but had a dell with a similar chip and it was terrible.

    Thanks for that.

It came as a default laptop with work. Think I'm stuck with it.

It's nice and small, and great for work but looks like it might be crap for anything else.

Why would you be gaming on a work machine? Anyway the Intel Extreme is dire for gaming.

This is very true ...if its gaming on your laptop ...it has to be one of the two big boys "ATI AND NIVIDA" but most people will tell you thats intels intergrated graphics are no good for any of the up to date directx 9 games out there at the moment ...plus if you where buying a laptop as a gaming machine you will pay through the nose for anything good eough to play the likes of far cry or doom 3 at a half decent frame rate..

I've a fx5600 on my laptop which is a desktop replacement. While it can play things like COD and older titles, the HL2 demo was ok at medium res for example. Games like Far Cry, Doom3, LockOn are a slide show. I had a 9600XT in my full desktop and it still struggled. But I've replaced it with a 9800pro now and can just about get a decent framerate. But really these kinda games need a mega PC to run.

Basically a laptop is compromised. So you have to be aware of the limitations. If you get anything powerful, the battery life will be awful. While its handy having a desktop replacement like I have, I'm finding I'd prefer to have better battery life and not play games on the laptop. It would be cheaper to buy a light mobile laptop and a decent desktop than a top end laptop.

I'm not a hard core gamer, so it's not a huge issue for me.

I loaded up Call of Duty last night and it looked great, ran very smoothly.

Also ran PES3 and it was fine.

Intel have a handy list of games that work here:

A poster on the gaming board pointed me to this.
