The only thing i know about this is that while it works well on shielded cables it has problems with unshielded.

This is because the signal leaks and causes problems with radio frequencies such as Ham radio.

There were loads of tests on the main electric cables but were not able to make it work.

However it works well within a house as most of the cables are shielded.
