If you're registered with O2, you can do it online for free. O2 give you 250 texts a month, which you can send anywhere in the world. The only 'catch' is that the person won't be able to use 'reply' as the online texting thingy doesn't put a plus in front of the sender's number.

Buy an 02 sim card and sign your text messages, he wouldn't be able to use the reply button even if it was your number.
