Hope this is the correct place to post this.
Anyway, anyone know if it is legal for a company not to give you the cost of living increase just because you are not working in the compnay for more than 6 months?

    surely, this is wrong??

An employer doesn't have to give you any increase full stop.
You are not automatically entitled to a pay rise every year, its irrelevant how long you've been working for the company.

I understand that but that's not really what I was asking.
What I want to know is, can they discriminate against people, based on time in the compnay, if everyone else in the company is getting it??

Yes they can - as already said, they are not obliged to give you an increase at all, so they could probably decide to give everyone but you an increase, even if you were there for 10 years. I would be surprised if anyone's pay is reviewed within the first 6 months of their employment, unless this was specifically agreed upon pending a review of your work.
