I'd go with the Japanese model if I were you. I've played both, and prefer the Japanese... In fact.. I own a Silver Series Squier, the Silver Series were made in Fender's Japan factory. I've yet to play another Strat that is as comfortable to play as my Jap Squier..

I'd go for Japanese too, more consistant build quality and less that 2/3 the price of a USA model. Best value in the world of guitars IMO.

i think that american strats are made of a high grade wood and better electronics so how do the jap beat them????

You think wrong. A lot of the Japanese models use the same electronics as the USA models, plus they have Gotoh hardware and from personal experience I can say the wood is just as good as the USA wood...

I've played both and there's something about the Japanese ones that just feels neater and tidier. It'd be very hard to spot any differences though. I say go with the Jap. Better value.
