A weekend not to be missed.

Before we get to there another date - Tuesday the 26th April. On the 26th a meeting to discuss Peoples Photography will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the Dublin Photographic Centre - 10 Lower Camden Street Dublin 2 ( Dublin Camera Club's premises). Topics will include the format, frequency, participation/scale, organisation and organising committee( a few more helping hands are needed). The event has been a great success over the last few years and it is therefore oportune to take some action to ensure its future and to ensure that that future builds on the current success.

We will shortly be announcing arrangements for applications, payment and allocation of spaces for 2005. If you are interested please reply to this email and/or come along on the 26th.

Don't forget to spread the word Sat 27th & Sun 28th of August will be Peoples Photography 2005.

    Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone was actually able to contact People's Photography using the online form on their website? I keep getting errors when I press submit. Is there another way to contact the organisers ? I would really like to take part.

    thanks for your help

    There is a website here

It's a big outdoor exhibition around Stephens Green. I went last year and it was good fun - even managed to recover my costs by selling 5 photos. This was made even more exciting by the Luas derailing just behind us...

It is good fun. You can see the whole range of photography from the point-a-good-camera-at-intersting-things (i.e. me) to the truly fantastic professional work.
Lesson learnt from last year is to not bring frames with glass in - many were broken when the wind picked up.

    Hi again

I've just been back on to the website and they now have a printable form with all the details I was looking for. So that's cool.

Form is here if anyone is interested.

Yup - I am hoping to get a spot this year and have two days worth of prints
Might get a couple of the better B&W enlarged - anyone know of a good photo printer that can do A3 or larger?

    Hi Merrion,

I was a couple of places down from you last year. Looking at the PP website, their pic captioned "Exhibition on the West Side" (where we where) brought back the "gale" incident quite vividly. That guy's whole wooden frame was blown over like a sail, lots of glass everywhere.

    Lesson: Bring string.

And as for the Luas derailment, folk were more interested in looking at that after a while!

A3 Prints - I got a couple done in a repro place at the end of George's St, same side as the camera shop. I forget the name but they didn't/couldn't print them on photo paper, only light standard paper, so they were not that great. I also priced A3 prints in the Fuji outlet across the road at the junction - they came in about €20 each, but I think they were on proper photo paper. I might give these guys a try this year to see how they turn out.

    Looking forward to PP2005.

    B.
