What Happened to NTL's Broadband Rollout?

A couple of months prior to christmas NTL started pushing out broadband to areas at a fairly hefty rate, but since then (and coincidentally since the "For Sale" sign went up) there has been nothing.

Does any one know of any areas enabled by NTL recently? Or is NTL going back on its promise that the sale would not effect the rollout of broadband.

That thread is about upgrading current customers speed, not rolling out other areas.

Read it again. They are rolling out in Galway. Up to now it has only been available in parts of Dublin. It also mentions new speeds.

Did I not hear a rumour that the reason for Ntl's sudden stop on broadband was that one of their customers houses caught fire due to problems with their routers???

I'd be as likely to believe that as I am to believe that my dog caught gay when we got NTL.

It's completely unlikely and if it were, they wouldn't stop the rollout, they would change supplier.

    It is what it's.

I'm pretty sure that was their phone service.

I think you are confusing this with the phone services, where they completely pulled out of the home phone market due to one of the VoIP boxes catching fire and burning a house down because it overheated. The broadband seems to be on hault due to the sale of ntl at the moment, as is speed increases.

it wasn't voip, just regular phone. the box was used for tv, broadband and phone lines... i miss my box :(

Both are around 40ms, I'll get the details when I get home.

It seems NTL don't pair in Ireland, therefore when pinging an Irish server it goes to the UK and then back to Ireland :(

    Eircom has better pings.
